Conflict between people in our communities is a fact of life and if managed successfully can be a real catalyst for positive change.
 
It's vital for any successful community leader  to have skills in managing conflict.  With two thirds of UK managers who were poled by CIPD admitting that dealing with conflict was something they'd try to avoid at all costs, this is an area that is critical for both  self development and career progress.


This 3 day course in community conflict resolution is aimed at anybody who wants to gain an understanding of practcial  conflict resolution techniques in the community including mediation and group facilitation techniques. Particularly useful for people who people with a role in managing disputes and difficult situations, the course provides participants with skills and knowledge in the following areas.


• A common understanding of community and shared values
• Understanding of the causes of conflict
• Techniques for resolving conflict
• How to facilitate dialogue to prevent conflict
• An introduction to mediation skills 


This course is accredited by the Open College Network at Level2 which will require a degree of written work and assesment.


Cost £395 statutory sector, £350 voluntary sector, £295 individuals.

All fees must be received in full in advance of course commencement.


Course commencement is subject to minimum numbers. Cancellations will be subject to a £50 administration fee up to 7 days before course commencement. Cancellations cannot be made  less than 7 days before commencement of the course, however candidate subsititution is allowed.
